About
Tiny Planets is led by Landia Egal and Amaury La Burthe, in close collaboration with a wider network of actors involved in various fields, from artistic creation to public policy and research.
When we met more than 10 years ago, we were among the pioneers of a fairly niche immersive creation sector, travelling frequently between Venice, Montreal, New York, Utah and California. Our sense of dissonance grew as the kilometres accumulated... to what end?
One of the metaphors we use to describe our journey is that of a ball of wool. We saw a piece of thread sticking out and started pulling on it...
Questions such as: "When I create immersive content, am I doing more good than harm? Am I using non-renewable resources that could be used for more essential needs? Does our activity still make sense in a world that is 4 degrees warmer? And what impact does this have on health, education, democracy, or even the “overwhelm” we feel in the face of exponential growth in content, to the point where we delegate the choice of what we consume to machines?"

These questions prompted us to seek answers which, thanks to the work of those who had paved the way long before us, in turn raised new questions, and so on.
